DESCRIPTION:
Continental desk or bedside clock case, purpose made to contain the inner case and movement of an earlier pair cased watch, bombe base on ball feet with square columns supporting the round case, with cast floral swag and putti, the top of each column with an inward facing bird, the base and clock case surfaces decorated with repoussé ornament in the rococo style, beaded bezel surround, the back with hinged door bearing a silver standard mark, possibly French, right front foot also with a small letter mark, c1850
CONDITION:
Overall very good, minor tarnish and scratches, right column with minor ding, will fit a movement 37.5 - 38mm in diameter
